Despite the Chiefs’ victory, Travis Kelce’s performance was lackluster with only three catches.

Travis Kelce had a relatively uneventful performance in the Kansas City Chiefs’ 21-14 win against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, despite achieving a significant milestone by breaking Tony Gonzalez’s franchise record for the most receiving yards.
Kelce managed just three catches on four targets, accumulating a mere 14 yards. This game marked one of his less impactful showings this season.
Chiefs coach Andy Reid acknowledged the defensive attention directed at Kelce, stating, “They were aware of him. We always try to get him the ball, and we try to do it quickly. There wasn’t a lot of space there for him, breaking in or out.”
Patrick Mahomes distributed his passes to nine different Chiefs receivers during the game, connecting for touchdown passes with Jerick McKinnon and Rashee Rice.
Interestingly, some NFL fans have humorously pointed to the absence of Taylor Swift, specifically in Frankfurt, Germany, as the reason behind Travis Kelce’s subdued performance. It’s been observed that Kelce tends to excel on offense when the pop superstar is present, whether at home or away games, but his performance dips when she opts not to attend in person.
This playful observation led to some good-natured ribbing of Kelce on social media. For instance, Sports Illustrated’s Michael Fabiano quipped, “Travis Kelce with Taylor Swift in attendance: 108 yards per game. Travis Kelce without Taylor Swift in attendance: 41 yards per game.”
