The Grammy-winning artist shared on a podcast that Kelce’s public account of a missed meet-and-greet was what ultimately led to their relationship.
Taylor Swift says Travis Kelce had all the hints he needed to win her over — straight from her music.
During her first-ever podcast appearance on New Heights with Travis and Jason Kelce, the 35-year-old Grammy winner joked that the show “got me a boyfriend” after Travis used it “as his personal dating app.” She recalled thinking it was funny that he turned a missed meet-and-greet into a public story, noting that he never even contacted her team — he just assumed he could get backstage because he knew “the elevator lady.”
Travis credits the Eras Tour for sparking their connection, explaining that seeing Swift perform left him “mesmerized” and determined to meet her. Sitting in the audience, he said he felt like he “knew exactly” what she wanted from a partner, calling himself “the luckiest man in the world.”
Back in July 2023, Travis told listeners he’d tried — and failed — to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it. The gesture, which Swift admits she found “wild,” ended up working in his favor. “If this guy’s not crazy, this is exactly what I’ve been writing songs about wanting since I was a teenager,” she said. After his bold podcast comments, friends began telling her what a great person he was, making her feel like she was “in an ’80s John Hughes movie” with someone holding up a boombox outside her window.
Because they met while she was touring, much of their early romance played out overseas, with adventures in Europe and Australia. Now that she’s off the road, Swift says she’s enjoying having “normal life” back — spending time on hobbies she describes as “granny stuff,” like sewing, cooking, and painting.
Her current obsession? Sourdough. Swift says she bakes bread constantly, sends loaves to friends for feedback, and dives into online sourdough communities. Travis is fully on board with her baking phase, even requesting two loaves while away at training camp, prompting Swift to joke that he’s still “a lucky man.”
