American musician and producer Oliver Tree is feared dead following a devastating helicopter accident in Brazil.
The 32-year-old California-born artist was reportedly among six people who lost their lives when two helicopters collided over Rio de Janeiro on Sunday morning, according to reports from the Associated Press.
Authorities said one of the aircraft came down on the grounds of a car dealership, where several electric vehicles caught fire after the impact. Firefighters later managed to contain and extinguish the blaze.
Officials have launched an investigation to determine what caused the midair collision.
Representatives for Tree had not issued a statement at the time of publication.
The singer had recently performed in São Paulo on June 6 as part of his global tour promoting his latest album, Love You Madly, Hate You Badly. His next scheduled concert was set to take place in Lisbon, Portugal, on July 1.
According to CNN Brazil, the other victims included passengers Lucas Vignale, Gaspar Prim, and Lucas Brito Chaves, as well as pilots Alexandre Souza and Charles Marsillac.
Tree rose to international fame through his genre-blending music and viral hits, building a dedicated fanbase around the world throughout his career.
