Sabrina Carpenter is making waves — and sparking debate — with her provocative new music video for “House Tour.”
In the video, the 26-year-old pop star appears alongside Margaret Qualley and Madelyn Cline in a high-energy, risqué storyline. What begins as a glamorous girls’ night quickly escalates into chaotic antics: the trio breaks into a luxurious mansion, dons lingerie, raids the liquor cabinet, soaks in a bubble bath, steals a Grammy, cannonballs into a pool, and loots cash and jewels — all while narrowly escaping police pursuit. The video concludes with Carpenter and Qualley driving over a man in their getaway car, a scene that nods to the infamous Bling Ring celebrity home burglaries.
The visuals are loaded with sexual innuendo, with Carpenter using the house as a metaphor in her lyrics: “Do you want the house tour? I could take you to the first, second, third floor… I just want you to come inside / But never enter through the back door.”
Carpenter co-directed the video with Qualley, sharing the creative control with fans on Instagram upon its release. The project underscores Carpenter’s evolution from her Disney Channel roots on Girl Meets World into a more adult, daring image.
Addressing the backlash, Carpenter acknowledged that her past as a childhood star affects public perception but stressed her desire to evolve. She explained to Variety, “I think it wouldn’t matter so much if I wasn’t a childhood figure for some people… I can’t really help that. It’s not my fault that I got a job when I was 12, and you won’t let me evolve.”
From “House Tour” to her controversial Man’s Best Friend cover art, critics have questioned how far she’s willing to push boundaries. Carpenter, however, remains unapologetic: “People think, ‘Oh, she’ll say and do anything.’ No. I really do have boundaries with myself — you’d be surprised! I’m just actually living my life, and you’re watching. If you don’t like it, it’s not for you. If you do like it, let’s play.”
