Morgan Wallen joined the ongoing online chatter surrounding the recent Coldplay kiss cam controversy, delivering a tongue-in-cheek remark during his show in Glendale, Arizona.
While performing at State Farm Arena on Friday night, the country star made what seemed to be a playful reference to the now-viral video involving a tech CEO and his company’s HR executive, which captured public attention after being shown on a stadium big screen.
“Anyone here with their side chick or something like that—you’re probably safe at this show,” Wallen told the crowd in a moment captured by a fan and shared on TikTok. He added, “Not saying I support cheating—anymore.”
Wallen’s quip comes in the wake of a headline-making incident at Coldplay’s July 16 concert at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. During a segment known as “The Jumbotron Song,” where Chris Martin sings impromptu lyrics about couples in the audience, one particular duo stood out—not for their affection, but for their uneasy reaction to being on camera.
As the stadium’s big screen zoomed in on a man and woman, the woman quickly shielded her face, while the man slipped out of view. Reacting in real time, Martin joked, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”
It didn’t take long for the internet to identify the pair as Andy Byron, then-CEO of the tech company Astronomer, and Kristin Cabot, the firm’s head of HR. Their reaction sparked speculation and scrutiny, particularly after social media users questioned the nature of their relationship.
In response, Astronomer released a public statement affirming its commitment to ethical leadership and announced a formal investigation into the matter. The company emphasized that its executives are held to high standards of conduct.
By the following day, Byron had stepped down. Astronomer confirmed on social media that it had accepted his resignation and that co-founder Pete DeJoy would serve as interim CEO while a permanent replacement is sought.
Fox News later reported that while Kristin Cabot finalized her divorce in 2022, property records show she and her ex-husband purchased a home together in April 2024. Meanwhile, no divorce filings could be found for Byron, who reportedly remains married.
The original kiss cam moment was posted by concertgoer Grace Springer, who told The U.S. Sun that she didn’t know the couple’s identities when she uploaded the video. “It just seemed like an interesting reaction, so I shared it,” she said. “In a way, I feel bad that it blew up like this—but actions have consequences.”
Springer added that she hopes “their partners can find healing” and believes the exposure might have been “a blessing in disguise.”
