In February 2025, Lainey Wilson and Devlin ‘Duck’ Hodges shared the news of their engagement.

Lainey Wilson is celebrating her engagement.
During an interview with Fox News Digital at the ACM Awards, the “Watermelon Moonshine” singer opened up about her fiancé, Devlin “Duck” Hodges, revealing she was caught off guard by his proposal.
“I was totally surprised, but I’m so happy to have found someone who’s so laid-back,” Wilson shared. “He’s my biggest supporter—he cheers me on when I leave and when I come back home, and that’s really all I could ask for.”
At 32, country singer Lainey Wilson took to Instagram in February 2025 to share her engagement to Devlin “Duck” Hodges, posting photos of the special moment right after he popped the question.
Wilson and Hodges, previously an NFL quarterback, first went public with their romance in May 2023 by attending the ACM Awards together. Wilson later revealed they had quietly been dating for two and a half years before stepping into the spotlight as a couple.
In footage shared by News Channel 5 Nashville, Wilson admitted she had suspected Hodges might propose but tried not to overthink it, saying, “I told myself I’d be real disappointed if I let my mind go there and it didn’t happen.” The day he proposed, the couple had planned to visit the George Jones estate, but Wilson realized there was more to the day when they arrived.
“When we pulled up, I noticed the setup was different,” Wilson recalled. “He had arranged everything with candles and photo frames—it was absolutely perfect.”
Wilson also ventured into acting, making her debut in November 2022 during the fifth season premiere of “Yellowstone,” portraying Abby, a musician who forms a relationship with Ryan, a ranch hand at Dutton Ranch.
Looking ahead, she’s preparing to star in the upcoming film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel Reminders of Him. Speaking with Fox News Digital, Wilson shared her excitement about taking on a non-musical role, saying, “It’s a totally new experience for me. Playing someone outside the world of music is pushing me out of my comfort zone, and I can’t wait to see where it takes me.”
Wilson’s journey in country music started over 13 years ago when she left her small Louisiana hometown for Nashville. After years of perseverance, she made her breakthrough with the chart-topping hit “Things a Man Oughta Know,” which soared to No. 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
In a May 2024 interview with Fox News Digital, Wilson humorously credited her parents for her dedication and achievements, saying they had been her biggest supporters from day one.
