Country singer Kelsea Ballerini and Outer Banks actor Chase Stokes ended their nearly three-year relationship in September.
Kelsea Ballerini and Chase Stokes closed out 2025 by celebrating their renewed romance.
The 32-year-old country singer confirmed she and the 33-year-old Outer Banks actor had reunited on New Year’s Eve through a series of social media posts, just three months after taking a break from their relationship.
In an Instagram carousel, Ballerini described 2025 as “the most glittery, stress rash–inducing year I’ve ever experienced” and shared, “I will always remember you.” While Stokes didn’t appear in the post, Ballerini shared a photo of them kissing, reflecting on the challenges of the “messy year” and emphasizing her commitment to breaking old patterns.
“Messy year for the heart, messy year for the outside coming in, messy year for the way it became an out-of-our-hands portrayal of it,” she wrote. “But what I’ll say, and what I really care to share about my personal life anymore, is that I really love love. I believe in it, I believe in him, and I believe in breaking patterns. Now go kiss your person and stop speculating.”
Stokes also reflected on the lessons he gained over the year, reaffirming his focus on growth in 2026. “Something I’ve learned this year: don’t take advantage of the most beautiful things that, in 33 years of life, are fleeting. Take accountability, learn from mistakes. Lean into love and say it often. 2026 — my year of growth, my year of truth. Starting here, starting now. Happy New Year,” he wrote.
A representative for Ballerini confirmed the couple’s reunion to People magazine. A source close to the pair explained, “They’re two adults who gave it their all and tried to do everything they could to make it work, but ultimately couldn’t. It happens.”
