Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau’s rumored relationship appears to be heating up — and fans are convinced their latest Halloween antics were subtle nods to each other.
While performing in Prague on October 30 during her Lifetimes Tour, the 41-year-old pop superstar addressed her relationship status in a lighthearted moment that quickly went viral.
In a TikTok video shared by a fan, Perry noticed a concertgoer holding a sign asking her to marry him. Laughing, she pointed out the proposal to the audience. “This guy is trying to get me to marry him, and he has a ring in his hand,” she said, before quickly clarifying, “No! I’m dating someone else, for crying out f—— loud.”
Meanwhile, across the Atlantic, Trudeau, 53, stirred social media buzz when he revealed his Halloween costume — a clear callback to one of Perry’s most iconic pop culture moments.
The former Canadian prime minister shared a carousel of photos on Instagram, showing himself dressed in a bright blue inflatable shark suit while posing with his 11-year-old son, Hadrien, who went as a surfer. In one image, Trudeau held a prop surfboard marked with a fake bite and splattered blood, while Hadrien stood beside him with faux blood streaked across his face.
“Ready for Halloween with Hadrien: he’s the surfer, I’m the shark (to his left). We built the costume together — a little father-son Halloween teamwork,” Trudeau captioned the post, also including a French translation.
Fans were quick to connect the dots, noting that the shark costume bore a striking resemblance to the “Left Shark” dancer from Perry’s 2015 Super Bowl halftime performance — the viral backup dancer who famously stole the show with his uncoordinated moves. Many also pointed out Trudeau’s cheeky phrase “to his left,” interpreting it as a playful reference to Perry’s “Left Shark.”
Comments flooded in beneath the post, with one fan joking, “I’ll dress up as Katy Perry and then you and I can pretend to be together!” while another wrote, “TO HIS LEFT 👏👏👏.”
Trudeau shares three children — Xavier, 18, Ella-Grace, 16, and Hadrien, 11 — with his estranged wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, whom he separated from in 2023 after 18 years of marriage.

By early October, the pair appeared to confirm their romance when they were photographed kissing aboard Perry’s yacht, Caravelle, off the coast of Santa Barbara.
Later that month, Perry seemed to address their budding relationship during a concert in London, joking with the crowd about her romantic past. “London, England, you’re like this on a Monday night after a whole day at work and a whole day at school?” she teased, according to The Sun. “No wonder I fall for Englishmen all the time… but not anymore.”
The singer also playfully brushed off another onstage marriage proposal that night — hinting once again that her heart already belongs elsewhere.
