According to divorce documents obtained by Fox News Digital, Jelly Roll filed for divorce on May 18 in Williamson County, Tennessee. The country star reportedly listed May 9 as the official date of separation and stated that the reason for the divorce was irreconcilable differences.
During her podcast episode, Bunnie explained that tensions increased after an argument on Mother’s Day. She said that, during the heated moment, she told Jelly Roll to “file the divorce papers,” but later clarified that she made the statement out of anger and frustration rather than a genuine desire to end their marriage.
She explained that she left after the argument and the two stopped communicating for a period of time. According to Bunnie, the emotional distance between them eventually led Jelly Roll to follow through with the divorce filing.
Bunnie also opened up about the challenges they faced while trying to start a family through IVF. She said the process deeply affected her emotionally, leaving her feeling unlike herself. The couple reportedly went through multiple IVF attempts, including three embryo transfers, but experienced the loss of four embryos, which added more stress to their relationship.
She shared that communication between them had declined over the past year and a half, admitting that she often felt she was the one putting more effort into protecting their relationship and supporting her husband.
Despite their divorce, Bunnie revealed that the two still plan to have a baby together. She described their relationship as unconventional and said they intend to co-parent while remaining close friends. She also emphasized that the separation was not caused by infidelity and that both of them played an important role in each other’s lives.
Meanwhile, Jelly Roll addressed the situation during a performance in Saratoga Springs, New York, where he pushed back against rumors circulating online. He told fans that he and Bunnie remain best friends, denied that either person cheated, and encouraged people to listen to Bunnie’s podcast for the truth about what happened.
