The Queens District Attorney’s Office has arrested two individuals for allegedly reselling stolen tickets to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour.

Two individuals have been arrested for cybercrime after allegedly stealing over 900 tickets for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour and reselling them, Fox News Digital confirmed.

Tyrone Rose, 20, and Shamara P. Simmons, 31, reportedly made $600,000 from the scheme, according to Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz.

“These defendants allegedly took advantage of Taylor Swift’s massive tour and other major events to make money at the expense of others,” Katz stated in a press release. “They are accused of exploiting a loophole in an offshore ticket vendor’s system to steal tickets for the biggest concert tour of the decade, reselling them for an extraordinary profit of more than $600,000.”

Rose and Simmons have been charged with second-degree grand larceny, first-degree computer tampering, fourth-degree conspiracy, and fourth-degree computer tampering. If convicted, they each face up to 15 years in prison.

Fox News Digital reached out to Taylor Swift’s representative for comment.

Swift has encountered several challenges with Eras Tour ticket sales. In 2022, Ticketmaster canceled the public sale of her tour tickets due to overwhelming demand during pre-sales.

“Due to extraordinarily high demands on ticketing systems and insufficient remaining ticket inventory to meet that demand, tomorrow’s public on-sale for Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour has been cancelled,” Ticketmaster announced on social media at the time.

Taylor Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour ultimately generated $2 billion in revenue, according to The New York Times.

Swift’s team told the outlet that 10,168,008 fans attended the 149 shows over the nearly two-year-long tour.

Taylor Swift has fundamentally reshaped the music industry for female artists, according to Dr. Sonja Stribling, a retired U.S. Army Major and author of the upcoming book From the Battlefield to the Boardroom.

“It’s not just about the money she’s making—though that’s significant—but she’s creating a path for others to follow,” Dr. Stribling previously told FOX Business. “I have no doubt that she and Beyoncé have discussed this because they’re paving the way for future artists. They are among the first of many—especially women—who are leading the charge. It’s not just about billionaire status; Taylor is making history by setting high benchmarks for others to strive toward.”

She added, “Only about 1% of people in her industry—maybe even fewer—will reach the level of success she has, and yet she makes it look effortless.”
