At 40 years old, Moore wasn’t ready for the age-related attention her role in the 2003 movie would attract.

Before agreeing to wear a bikini for her memorable role in 2003’s “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle,” Demi Moore had one specific condition.
During Tuesday’s episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show,” Moore shared with the host—who also appeared in the movie—that she found out about the scene with Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu only three weeks prior to filming.
She recalled, “All I remember is pleading with them not to film my butt. I have no idea why that became my fixation,” Moore said.
The actress explained to Barrymore that she had to “compartmentalize” and focus solely on the scene.
“I didn’t have time to worry about my appearance, which actually worked out better,” Moore said.
Barrymore added, “No one can achieve what you did in just three weeks. You clearly came prepared. There’s no magic trick to get there in such a short time. I tried a three-week diet, and I definitely didn’t end up like that.”
Moore, who was 40 during the filming of “Charlie’s Angels,” admitted she “wasn’t ready for the intense attention it brought.”
She continued, “I didn’t expect the spotlight, especially because it was so closely tied to my age. I turned 40 while we were shooting the movie.”
In the end, Moore agreed to join the film after her three daughters—Rumer, Tallulah, and Scout—encouraged her to do so.
“I had paused my career to spend time with them. I was fully focused on being with them until they kept saying, ‘You have to do this movie. We loved the first one. You have to do this. And please, aren’t you going to work again?’” Moore recalled.
Moore reflected on how important it was for her to demonstrate to her daughters the “complete expression of who she was” as an actress.
In “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle,” the franchise’s second installment, she played Madison Lee, a former Angel who turns into the film’s antagonist.
The original “Charlie’s Angels” reboot, featuring Barrymore, Diaz, and Liu, premiered in 2000.
In 2003, Moore was supported at the premiere of “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle” by her three daughters and ex-husband, Bruce Willis. She also attended with her then-boyfriend, Ashton Kutcher.
