Actress Charlize Theron Clears the Air on Plastic Surgery Speculations: “I Haven’t Undergone Procedures or Fillers,” she Affirms
Despite persistent rumors suggesting otherwise, Charlize Theron, the 48-year-old actress, has firmly stated that she has not undergone plastic surgery or received facial fillers. In a recent interview with Allure, Theron expressed her contentment with the natural changes her face is undergoing as she embraces the aging process.
Theron further addressed the rampant speculation circulating within her fan community. She asserted that any alterations in her appearance are the natural outcome of the passage of time, rather than the result of cosmetic interventions. She candidly remarked, “People think I’ve had a facelift. They’re like, ‘What did she do to her face?’ I’m like, ‘B***, I’m just aging! It doesn’t mean I got bad plastic surgery. This is just what happens.'” The “Atomic Blonde” star expressed her frustration with the prevailing double standard between genders when it comes to aging.
Voicing her concerns, she elaborated, “I’ve always had issues with the fact that men kind of age like fine wines and women like cut flowers. I despise that concept and I want to fight against it, but I also think women want to age in a way that feels right to them. I think we need to be a little bit more empathetic to how we all go through our journey.” Theron emphasized that she now finds humor in seeing her own face on billboards, acknowledging the unique journey each individual traverses in life.
Theron, known for her role in “Fast X,” also delved into how her two children perceive and respond to the natural process of aging.
“They see somebody, they like what they’re wearing, or they think they’re pretty and they don’t really know if she’s in her 20s or she’s in her 60s,” she explained. “It’s so great. I love that. I wish we could just maintain that.” Theron shared her admiration for the way children view individuals without being influenced by age-related judgments.
Theron is the mother of two adopted children, one of whom has identified as transgender since the age of three. In 2019, she shared with the Daily Mail, “Yes, I thought she was a boy, too. Until she looked at me when she was three years old and said, ‘I am not a boy.’”
Reflecting on her role as a parent, Theron emphasized her commitment to celebrating and supporting her children in their identities. She stated, “My job as a parent is to celebrate them and to love them and to make sure that they have everything they need in order to be what they want to be.” Theron expressed her dedication to ensuring her children’s rights and protection as they explore their identities.
