Nikki Glaser, a self-proclaimed Swiftie, appeared as a guest judge on a recent Taylor Swift–themed episode of American Idol, where some viewers believed they noticed tension between her and Underwood.
Underwood, who joined the judging panel in 2025, dismissed the rumors during an appearance on The Highway with Cody Alan. After the episode aired, she posted a photo with Glaser on Instagram, writing that she had a “fun night” with the “beautiful and hilarious” comedian.
Despite her post, some fans questioned whether the goodwill was genuine, pointing to moments in the episode they interpreted as awkward or cold interactions, including alleged side-eyeing and minimal engagement between the two.
Online comments fueled the speculation, with some viewers insisting they saw visible discomfort between the pair during the broadcast.
Radio host Cody Alan noted the tendency for social media to exaggerate conflict, joking about how people often try to create “cat fights” out of minor moments. Underwood agreed, saying she is used to that kind of narrative and believes people often try to manufacture drama when two women appear together.
She went on to praise Glaser’s guest appearance, saying she performed well in a difficult role and contributed constructive feedback during the show. Underwood emphasized that there was no conflict between them, stating clearly that “there’s no beef.”
Alan also asked Underwood about her experience as a former American Idol winner and whether she still feels the same nerves she once did when performing on the show.
