While attending her annual Carly’s Closet fundraiser, the Grammy-winning singer shared that she’s doing well and has developed an effective strategy for managing symptom flare-ups.
Country singer Carly Pearce has spoken candidly about the anxiety she experienced after being diagnosed with a chronic heart condition.
In 2024, the Grammy-winning artist learned she was living with recurrent pericarditis, a condition involving inflammation of the sac-like tissue surrounding the heart. According to Pearce, symptoms such as chest discomfort, fatigue, and shortness of breath had been affecting her for several years before she finally received answers.
During her annual Carly’s Closet fundraising event in Nashville, Pearce reflected on the emotional impact of the diagnosis. She admitted that one of her biggest fears was uncertainty about her heart health and whether the condition could lead to something more serious. Questions about her future well-being and concerns about the possibility of a heart attack weighed heavily on her mind in the early stages of her diagnosis.
The singer explained that educating herself about the condition helped ease many of those fears. Learning more about recurrent pericarditis and understanding her treatment plan allowed her to avoid becoming consumed by worst-case scenarios.
Pearce also encouraged others facing health concerns to be cautious about relying solely on information found through internet searches. Instead, she emphasized the importance of working closely with medical professionals to understand a diagnosis and determine the best course of action.
Speaking previously about her health journey, Pearce revealed that her symptoms first appeared in 2020 but were not immediately recognized as signs of a heart condition. She recalled being told that stress, anxiety, or a demanding schedule might be responsible for her symptoms, despite feeling that something more serious was wrong.
Eventually, after continuing to seek medical answers, she received a diagnosis that explained her long-standing health issues. Pearce later chose to share her experience publicly, hoping it would encourage others to take persistent symptoms seriously and seek medical attention when something feels off.
Today, the singer says she is doing well and has not experienced any major flare-ups recently. She feels more confident managing the condition and credits persistence in pursuing medical care for helping her reach this point.
Looking back, Pearce’s advice remains simple: trust your instincts, listen to your body, and advocate for yourself when seeking medical care. She believes that continuing to push for answers was ultimately what led to the diagnosis she needed.
