Cardi B is attributing her fall during a Las Vegas concert to government negligence after she had previously provoked the Department of Homeland Security online.

The rapper’s widely shared fall occurred just a week after Cardi B kicked off her “Little Miss Drama Tour,” during which she made threatening remarks about ICE.

Cardi B had an eventful night on stage in Las Vegas on Friday.

The 33-year-old rapper took a tumble off her chair during a performance of “Thotiana” at the T-Mobile Arena but quickly recovered, pointing at the chair and joking to the audience, “That was the government.”

After the clip went viral online, Cardi – born Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar – took to X (formerly Twitter) to add, “Can someone put a community note on this? This video is clearly Ai.”

The incident comes just a week after the “Bodak Yellow” artist launched her “Little Miss Drama Tour” in Southern California, during which she made pointed remarks about U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). On stage, she warned, “If ICE come in here we gone jump they asses… I’ve got some bear mace in the back,” adding, “They ain’t taking my fans.” She then performed her hit “I Like It” featuring J Balvin and Bad Bunny.

DHS responded lightly, stating to Fox News Digital that as long as Cardi doesn’t harm their agents, they view her behavior as an improvement over past incidents. Cardi’s team did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

She continued her online banter about the federal government, sharing a Dr. Evil GIF in reaction to the U.S. entering its third partial shutdown of the year after Congress failed to pass all 12 spending bills, captioning it, “I planned this.”

Last year, Cardi reflected on her political silence, explaining that her past public complaints had caught the attention of the White House. “I know the White House watches my stuff. I have a big platform. I know they listen to what I say,” she told Billboard. She added that while she was not excited about voting in 2024, she had supported Kamala Harris in the past as the “lesser evil,” despite facing criticism for her accent and speech. Cardi noted, “S–t ain’t funny right now… It’s really tough out here. S–t is really rough for everybody. I tried to warn ya.”
