Chris Pratt Says Star-Lord Will Return to the MCU

By Claire Whitman

Chris Pratt says Star-Lord is not finished in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to Variety Australia, Pratt confirmed the character’s return during an appearance on The Playlist’s “Bingeworthy” podcast. He did not give a timeline or name a project.

“you’ll see Star-Lord again, which is very exciting, but I’m not at liberty to say when that’s going to be, but he’s not going anywhere,” Pratt said, according to Variety.

That is the key point for Marvel viewers: the character remains part of the MCU conversation, even if the next step has not been announced.

What Pratt said about Marvel

Pratt also said he has a strong working relationship with Marvel’s Kevin Feige and Lou D’Esposito, according to Variety. He did not provide further details about where Star-Lord might appear next.

The Spanish-language Hollywood Reporter en Español also reported on October 22, 2026, that Pratt said he would return as Star-Lord, while noting that he could not say when.

For now, the confirmation is limited but clear. Pratt is saying the role will continue, and the timing is still under wraps.

Why it matters to MCU fans

Pratt has played Star-Lord in six Marvel films:

  • “Guardians of the Galaxy”
  • “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2”
  • “Avengers: Infinity War”
  • “Avengers: Endgame”
  • “Thor: Love and Thunder”
  • “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3”

That history makes the update notable. Star-Lord has been part of both the “Guardians of the Galaxy” films and larger Marvel team-up stories. A return would keep one of the franchise’s established characters in play as Marvel continues planning future projects.

The comment does not answer the bigger questions. Pratt did not say whether Star-Lord would return in a film or another format. He did not say if the appearance would be connected to other “Guardians” characters. He also did not give a release window.

What it does establish is that Pratt expects to play the character again, and that he is framing the return as a matter of “when,” not “if.”

That is useful for fans who follow MCU casting and character updates closely. It gives a confirmed direction without filling in details that Marvel has not released.

For Talk Radio 107.7 listeners, the takeaway is simple: Chris Pratt says Star-Lord will be back, but Marvel’s next move is still being kept quiet.
